Alex stood his back to the wall, his entire body almost shaking as his fingers dug into the wall behind him. Although his chest heaved up and down, he breathed silently through his nose. His fingers continued to press harder into the wood behind him, as he tried to calm himself down. His entire body moved slowly as he leaned across the corner for the hundredth time. His eyes lowly glided across the room, glancing at every object in the abandoned house until his eyes finally fell upon the box sitting on the table. That same table was surrounded by three men each clothed in mismatched bloody armor.  The smell of alchahol carried throughout the entire house, and was more then enough to make Alex cringe. The three of them weren’t what made Alex worry tho; they were obviously brutes and bandits. No, it was a hooded figure in the corner garbed in a black cowl. He was most certainly not drunk, nor a brute, but very vigilant.
Alex quickly moved back to the wall, he breathed as his head hit the back of the wall. He sighed silently trying to calm himself down. His hand slowly traced up the wall to the knife at his belt. He thought of this plan a hundred times knowing every detail, and yet nothing of this was going to plan. He gripped the knife as tight as he could, pulling out of the sheath as he tried to think of a new plan. Alex breathed looking around one last time, the entire room exactly the same as it was two seconds ago except for the hooded figure stared directly at him shushing him. Alex panicked finally leaped behind his pillar. By his second step on the hollowed floors, everyone in the entire room was looking at him drawing their weapons. Alex turned quickly dodging the men as he rushed to a pillar hitting it with all his might. Everyone in the room stopped as they watched as he fell to the floor clutching his shoulder, the support beam shattered a great part in his arm. The bandits laughed heartedly as they approached, him with swords drawn. Alex rolled over holding his arm pulling out the splintered wood as he awaited his fate.
His hand gripped the knife for one last final attempt to save his life, he turned his head looking up to see the fruit of his effort. The entire building shook as the old beams one by one collapsed bringing the entire roof down.  For minutes there was no motion, until as pushed the broken beam off him. His body ached lucky that he could even walk. He breathed softly as he looked at the scattered rubble. “Yea climbing through the roof was a stupid idea, I really suck at plans.” He spoke to himself through painful grunts sorting through the rubble to find the once sturdy table. After a few moments he finally felt the smooth texture of the wooden table and next to it a chest. With a smile he snatched it up and turned to the road when a voice echoed through his ears. Alex whipped his head back to see the hooded man from before. “Wow really didn’t think you had it in you, I’m impressed. I ought to kill you really, but you deserved this one. I really hope I see you later kid.” With those last words the hooded man turned  walked away not once looking back.
Alex let out a deep sigh, grateful for his luck of avoiding a fight. He turned much slower as he continued to walk back down the road. His entire body sorely limped as he made his way.

The bustling town moved quickly and buzzed with its regular merchants, everyone in the entire town minding their own. Alex limped into the town slowly, his body was bloody and full filthy. He made his way through the crowd, bumping his way through to an outer edge house. His eyes looked upon the stone masonry of the building, its cracks showing its age and character. The entire town was built around this one building, as both a fortress and as a market.
Alex fell back as he breathed softly finally relaxing for the first time in what felt like hours, his hand still clutching the small box. Alex’s eyes slowly faded as his mind began to drift, soon a minute became an hours as gentle presence approached him. Alex quickly jumped up as he heard a voice pulling him from his sleep. With a gentle smile he leaned back against the house tossing the box in one hand, while patting down his hair with the other. His eyes slowly opened adjusting the birght summers light sillouted by a young woman. The sun perfectly highlighted her golden blonde qurals as they fell down her slim shoulders. She had a beautiful young face with pale white complexion that exadurate her dark red lips. Everything about the young woman beautiful, and her height deffinatly made her something of a specticale.
Alex couldn’t help but to lighten up every time he saw her or heard or voice. She was somewhat a relic of the town, a last bit of beauty standing out from the dirt washed grey people that lived in this market town, so much like the stonebuilding he was leaning on. It was her very differences that had captivated Alex’s interest so much that he would be willing to attack bandits and bring down a building for her. He finally stopped spinning the box as he opened it, stopping her mid sentence as he revelead  the prize of his conquest. In his hand laid a dull silver necklace braided across with dim saphires throughout. The necklace was far to old and worn for any noble to ever where, but it held a special place in the young girls heart.
She jumped forward as her arms wrapped around Alex’s burned body pulling him in a tight embrace. She hugged him tight as she could, her sother draw slowly whispering into is ear. “ I cant believe you found it, I don’t understand it was stolen by those bandits, none of the palace guards would ever come all the way out here. Then how did you get it, it doesn’t make sense. Thank you thank you thank you, wait is this how you got hurt?” She gasped for air after her long winded rant. She looked back at Alex noticing more and more of his injuries, frome the scrapes and bruises to his body, or the slight swelling of his face and eyes. It all hid under a layer of dust and sand.

The necklace was far to old and worn for any noble to ever where, but it held a special place in the young girls heart.
She jumped forward as her arms wrapped around Alex’s burned body pulling him in a tight embrace. She hugged him tight as she could, her southern draw slowly whispering into is ear. She looked back at Alex noticing more and more of his injuries, from the scrapes and bruises to his body, or the slight swelling of his face and under his eyes.  Taylor quickly moved placing her hand over his head, as her slender fingers softly caressing his rough skin. “I cant believe you did this, I cant believe your still walking, you really must tell me everything later. Her eyes quickly dropped from Alex to her beloved necklace. In only a second her attention completely dropped from Alex as she slowly started to walk away. She looked back one more time flashing her smile as her mouth spoke sweet words of gratitude lost onto the wind.
Alex watched her leave, his eyes never leaving her until she was out of sight, his smile never stopped growing until she walked away. He looked at the sky, his mind drifting into thoughts of infatuation until he was once again interrupted. Alex eyes peered once again to a small pudgy man, he had a thick grey beard covering most of his face. He had dark pale eyes, deep and shadowed with age. The old man leaned against that same wall slumping down next to Alex as his arm stretched out pulling the young man to him. His voice rung out like. “Wow by seeing her smile, I feel its safe to say you dealt with those bandits. I really didn’t think you had it in you to actually get it. How did you manage to steal this from those bandits.”
Alex looked at him coyly as he pondered his response. He wondered if the real story, or a dramatization version would sound better. He thought it better to clear his story now as slowly cleared his throat, then began retelling in a stage voice. “I found myself in the bandits hideout, an old broken down kot the base boards rotting under our very feet. The three bandits sat drinking merrily, never once aware of my presence or intentions simply playing a card game. Everything seemed just as the roomers told it, but there was a fourth man. The fourth man was far from a barbarian and carried a bow. My original plan to ambush and flank them seemed to be ruined, and I refused to turn around empty handed so I improvised. I decided to take a risk and brought the entire building ontop of us. I of course chose the weekest part of the ceeling for myself.” Alex smiled confidently over her great conquest, defiantly defining himself as a hero.
The pudgy old man tumbled onto his back laugh, his arms clutching his ribs as he rolled. He continued on until finally thinking it enough began to calm down and pick himself up. “You are really something kid, I don’t know anyone else that would willing drop a building on his own head. Well Im glad we wont have to deal with them again, this entire town owes you a lot more then they know. Although that hooded figure worries me, a bunch of brutes like that don’t answer to just anyone I tell you that. I hope Taylor clears up and decides to take interest in you soon; the town could really use you staying.
Alex slowly stood up pushing himself off the ground as he turned to the old man.

The sound of screams roared through the city slowly filling the perimeter as they flowed into the streets. Alex was shook awake as he dissorientidly looked around the room until his eyes looked at the in keepers worried face. She screamed in some foreign tongue before dropping her grip and quickly scurrying around the room before disappearing outside of the doorway. Alex slowly gripped the bed as he pulled himself out the room spinning around him as he began to retain his barrings. He leaned against the wall trying to make sense of everything in his, the inn keeps voice ringing through his ears. Two words seemed to stick to his minde, only two words that were remotely distinguishable. “Run”, “Die”. The two words seemed so vauge until he heard the blood curdling cries of the inn keep.
Alex moved quickly as his eyes shot open quickly bursting through the entryway to the mangeled corpse of the innkeep and many of his neighbors. Blood drenched the floor, more then he thought possible. The trail seemed to come from every room, the innkeeps from his. Alex’s face burned with the thought that her life was a sacrifice for his. He quickly turned running back in the room grabbing the knife from his gear and running out the door.
Boddies laid disemboweled one after another throughout the entire building and into the streets. A soft glow of heat instantly hit his skin as he stepped out of the inn. The entire city glowed through flames slowly started to drift inward. His eyes looked in awe of the lively town he saw only so many hours ago. His eyes searched the streets as he saw a few citizen running to the east end. He quickly followed persuit as he heard more screams near that direction. He gripped the knife in his hand more for comfort then defense.  He turned the corner to see two see two sets of soldiers wepons drawn as they cornered a female citizen. Alex moved silently as he approached the guard instinctually rushing to him stabbing the dagger deep into his chest before the man could even notice. The guard screamed as he swung his sword through bloody screams. Alex quickly moved grabbing the blade as he wrestled the man to the ground. His eyes peered into mans eyes as his fist pounded into his face until the man no longer moved. Alex moved slowly as he pryed the sword from the mans hand, his eyes slowly meeting that of the terrified citizen. “What are you doing, get there hell out of here. “
He gripped the sword just as hard as he did the dagger as his entire hand felt numb like much of his body. It felt as if death was around him, impsossible to excape, sheep to the slaughter. He tried to shake the thought out of his head as he moved down the street. He could feel his heat pound in his throut every body he saw making it beat harder. His skin felt on fire, his eyes darted to every corner that could hide someone, as voices could he heard ahead. His body slambed into the house as he rose the sword ever so lightly. It felt heavier then he imagined, a voice spoke in some odd language he had never heard. Alex closed his eyes as he swung around the corner driving his blade into a soliders cold flesh hardly giving him a second to cry out.  Alex’s attention quickly turned another man with a sword as long as his own body. Without a second of hesitation he rushed digging his sword into the mans chest before he could even raise his blade.
Alex fell to the ground as the dumbness filled the rest of his body. Eveything felt like a dream, someone elses life, anyone’s except his. He looked down for the frist time at his hands completely covered in blood. He rose slightly as more voices and cries seemed to get closer.  He reached grabbing the large sword that somehow felt light in his state. More foot steps and voices grew closer then for the first time he had been awake there was silence. Only the soft crackeling of houses burning could be heard, then a voice that seemed to to come from no one. “You really surprise me kid, you really might have had a future in a couple of years but times up. “
As soon as the voice ended a new sound broke the silence a blood curdeling scream. Deep breathing sowly came from a shadowed alley. Slowly a sillouete fromed from a shadow, a massive canine creature his mout split open
